Volunteers with Foyle Child Contact Centre have the opportunity to support children and young people begin to rebuild a relationship with an absent parent due to family breakdown. Some of the children and young people will have lived with domestic abuse, substance abuse and mental health, but not all families experience these issues.
Volunteers with Foyle Child Contact Centre receive regular and ongoing training in a variety of relevant subjects including Child Protection, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Substance Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Conflict Management, First Aid etc.
We offer the opportunity for volunteers to develop record-keeping skills, confidence in dealing with sensitive issues, expenses for travel. We provide uniforms and name badges.
We are a warm and welcoming team who value the time and commitment of our volunteers and twice a year hold an appreciation event.
