Running a Barnardo's store needs a good team of enthusiastic people and you could be part of it! Our stores rely on a team of multi-skilled volunteers from all walks of life who come together to generate vital funds for Barnardo's work with children, young people and their families.
KEY ACTIVITIES.
Our stores offer a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of the retail operation. Our Retail Assistant Volunteers are trained to assist in a wide range of activities including
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Serving customers and successfully operation the till.
- Replenishing stock by making sure our rails and shelves are well stocked and are visually appealing and tidy.
- Stock preparation including sorting, steaming and pricing.
- Administration tasks.
TIME COMMITMENT.
Each volunteer can agree hours with the store manager from a minimum of 02 hours per week. Due to the nature of the role we ask that the volunteers commit to a minimum of two months.
SKILLS REQUIRED.
- Friendly and helpful manner
- Honesty and reliability.
- Team player.
- Inters in or experience of working in retail / fashion.

- We will provide the support you need to feel confident in your role
- You can benefit by developing your retail and Customer service skills. We will be happy to provide a reference should you require it.
- Your local store manager and team of experienced volunteers will be on hand to provide support and answer any questions you may have.
- You will meet new people whilst making a big difference to the children and young people Barnardo's work with.
